Dot Dot Dot
This is what happens when you don't have words to describe what you're currently experiencing. That overwhelming feeling right now puts you in a state that you can't process all the sadness that's penetrating you, both emotionally, psychologically and physically. It's as though in that very moment everything is happening so fast in your head that you can't grab hold of any of the thoughts that's running through, but at the same time it feels as though reality itself slowed down.
Emotionally you feel a tremor of unease, unease because the sadness is out of your control. Physically you experience an instant temporary paralysis. One that heightens your sensitivity and causes you to feel your heart pounding ferociously but at a pace that you can feel the slow expansion and explosiveness beneath your rib cage. Psychologically you begin to become a new person. Your personality begins to adapt to the experience and take on new traits that's more compatible in dealing with such an experience.
Have you experienced sadness?
The kind that takes control of your body.
The kind that ripples through from head to toe.
The kind that can causes your legs to disobey the order of your mind telling them to stand.
The kind that distorts speech, causing even the most literate of us to mumble, ramble or become dumb.
The kind that forces the body to produce large quantities of water that's uncontrollably released through the eyes.
The kind that breaks your heart without breaking it.
The feeling of sadness is so indescribable that it requires an attempt at describing it so that someone can understand the exaggeration and exaggerate it even more.
Sadness is like walking on a floor that's constantly being shifted from under you. As this floor shifts and causes you to wobble, there's this painless blow to the knees that causes a staggering collapse. This is when your legs entirely gives out and you hit the floor. The worst part about hitting the floor is, not seeing yourself hitting it. As you hit the floor your blank mind starts to phase back into reality. But reality is too real to process, so it feels like every thought is grain of sand. (Have you ever felt a blast of sand against your skin? Yes, it hurts like hell!) So just imagine all the grains of sand rushing back into your head! So many thoughts all at once that can't be processed so they begin to form a storm of sand in your head just spinning wildly hitting every inch of your head. (This is the enormous headache you're experiencing). Also, having your chest torn open and having a hand grab your heart with a tight grip. This intensifying feeling causes your heart to beat harder and faster. With the restraint placed on the heart, it fights and struggles for each beat. You can feel the pressure thunder through your entire beat as it forces to expand between that tight grip. BOOM! Every beat feels like it's going to explode between those heavy hands. Then there's the moment of having to speak but you realize somehow painlessly your tongue is cut off, so speaking at this point is useless.Your eyes begin to feel like you've been someone's punching bag, and after the swelling the feeling of standing over a lit candle staring into it a few inches away begins to kick in.(All caused by the excess release of the uncontrollable fluids in your eyes). The scariest part is.....who are you now? Happiness and smiles torn off your face, that fire you had in you put out, what seemed important no longer does.Living becomes pointless....
Sadness isn't something you can ever prepare yourself for, not even with the knowledge of an expected/ inevitable tragedy. Sadness is one of those things that lingers, the effects are long-term.You'll NEVER get over such an experience, you'll only learn how to cope with it better each day. Never hold back your pain, and never push away those that are there to help you through every step of the way!
