Discipline Is The Right Way

If you've been an athlete for years, chances are you're suffering from some form of "lackofwarmupediatis". We've all made it this far as an athlete by starting off the wrong in some way or another.
As a young kid, as a young person our main concern is just doing what we love. We enjoy playing, sporting, and just being free without any responsibilities and limitations. It starts as casual activites, then moving on to competitive fun with friends, and then if motivated or ambitious enough we move on to becoming part of a team to compete against others (atleast this is how the transition happened for me). During these different phases having fun and winning remains the main concern. For me personally, I'd be so eager to play, so eager to have fun, that as soon as I arrive it's time to jump right on the court. Shoes on, pants tied, locate the nearest ball bag, grab a ball, tell the others to get on the field and TIME TO SERVE THE BALL!
The intensity that me and my friends played with seemed to bear no consequences at the time, atleast that's what we thought. We played and played for hours. We played on the road, we played on concrete courts, we played in our yards, anywhere we could find a space big enough to play volleyball we played.
It was a simple schedule; we arrive, we play, and we leave. We ignored the disciplines of the sport, of any physical activities; proper technique, proper gear, warming up and cooling down. We felt pain, our shoulders hurt, our knees burnt, our ankles pinched, but what did we care? "Pain is gain" right?! Atleast that's what every ignorant person believes without knowing what exactly that really meant.

After years of wear and tear on the body, after years of hearing others giving you warnings, after years of ignoring, I realized for myself how right they were/are. Your body continues to worsen, the pain begins to get unbearable, the thing you loved doing most begins to FEEL less fun.......YOU BEGIN TO REGRET!

We may not all be volleyball players, we may not all be athletes, but we all do something we love. The things we love all have disciplines and techniques. The things we love all have consequences if not gone about correctly. Be sure to apply yourself properly in anything you do. Follow the proper steps to ensure longevity.
Look out for the younger generation. Correct them, show them the proper way, educate them. "Erase your footsteps behind you that will lead others on a bad path".

For the record, you may feel you're too late to fix something. Sometimes that may be true, but taking the right way from the point you are will sure as hell avoid you from making things worse!
