What is news?
Not the definition, but what it really IS!
I believe that news is simply how we take a situation and turn it into a pretty story worth reading.
After all, reading isn't a sport or a hobby that people are always willing to sacrifice a few minutes or a few hours to do, people simply aren't always THAT interested in reading (especially if it's too long or too boring).
Just take this post for example; who the fuck am I to think that I can attract large numbers to actually read this? Am I even making this juicy enough for you? Probably not as spicy as I could, but I am bringing news to you. Trust me, I want you to be aware but I'm not desperate to alter information just to make it juicy for you. FUCK THAT! If you want to be informed, you will look for the truth, and not something that's entertaining.
..........back to the fact.
What really makes a "juicy" story?
What is NEWS?!
The truth is, news is truth lacking truth. The truth is too boring to stir up emotions or interest, so the truth is thrown into a pot and stirred up with the right amount of spices! You know, "sugar, spice and everything nice".
People are hungry......HUNGRY for a juicy story, so that's what the media gives them. We humans are so easily fooled that we're constantly being fooled by the same methods. Consumed by hunger and greed, once the media puts a plate infront of us with anything that "looks" appealing, "smells" juicy, we're gonna take a bite.
What are we really eating? More than half of the time we don't know, BUT it sure as hell has the right flavors to keep us chewing and chewing only to inevitably swallow what we so gullibly soaked our teeth into.
You know what the bad part is? Exactly that! We love the bad part the most. We love the junk because that's most juicy, we love the stuff that's bad for us, we want all the negatives.
The media has become the perfect chefs, they know what we crave and have designed the perfect recipe. That juicy fabricated thing that you are craving is what keeps us distracted.
It's really sad, sad to see that negativity is what dominates headlines. Negative news is what we crave most, is what we share most, is what interest us most, so that's what we read most. It's sad that news is only interesting to us if it seem to have some twist to it, if there is some form of corruption or some form of conspiracy. We believe in so much conspiracies but we can't see that the media creates the biggest conspiracies. We are fascinated by the hate of the world, we share the hate of the world, but yet we are surprised when hate conquers.
The media doesn't always care about your interest nor does it care about informing you of the truth. The media cares about numbers; clicks, views, money, informing you with enough truth to keep you biting. We're all trapped, trapped by the addiction, trapped by that juicy fabricated thing they continuosly feed to us.
"Be informed, stay informed, and inform yourself".
