She's So Deep

She's not your ordinary,
She's so ordinary.

She's still pieced together,
No cracks, no tape, no glue,
She's not "damaged goods".
She's far from torn,
Uncomfortable to be exposed....
To be naked as she was born,
So she stays covered,
She stays protected,
She wears as much as she can so you can't see what lies under.

The world isn't her playground,
Her thoughts are.
She's safe there,
No one can steal away her pride.
Anxious to go from 0 - 100,
Her mind takes her places further than anyone can, than anything can....
But she takes her foot off the peddle,
She realizes that her confidence lives behind her eyelids,
The life she craves lives in the darkness.

In love with the thought of living,
But not interested in the thought of a joy ride.
Don't get me wrong, she wants the joy,
But she's not sure if she's ready for the ride.

She's trapped, trapped from herself or trapped by herself...who knows?..
What I do know is that she's trapped in her thoughts, because that's the only place she's comfortable, that's the only place her confidence blooms like flowers in spring!
Trapped so deep,
Deeper than the reach of her fingers, than of yours...
How deep that is, she doesn't know....but she's eager to find out.

With every blink she sees what she doesn't see.
She sees the life, the dream, the hope of what she craves but traps herself from, because she's.....
Too shy,
Too afraid;
Afraid of what she may find,
Afraid of what she don't know,
Afraid of who she might become...
Afraid of who she really is!

She can't stand the thought of being more into her thoughts than her life.
She wants to open up...
In all ways she can.
She's tired of being a blank canvas that everyone paints what they want on,
She wants to be a painting that hangs on the wall.
A bold strong painting standing in front of you with no space left for paint, because she's a complete art piece.
She's doesn't need someone to explore her, because she's already her own explorer.
She told her own story, she just wants you to listen, she just wants you to see.....
SHE just wants to see, who she really is under all that she's wearing!

She wants to hang her painting...
Her eyes are closed, the confidence is back,
But she can't face her audience with her eyes closed.
She saw the light in the darkness,
That glimmer of light, that bit of hope....
Squeezing its way between her eyelids.
She gathers all the confidence she can in the darkness,
Holding on tight to every bit she can, she heads for the light.

As she opens her eyes the darkness disappears and her confidence becomes harder to hold on to,
She squeezes tighter, a grip so tight she can feel her fingers piercing her palms!
Confidence is what she has right now,
Confidence is what she's holding onto,
Confidence is what she wants....no! it's what she needs!

When all the darkness disappeared, she looks at her hands,
Nervous to unfist her tight grip,
Nervous to know if she's still holding on to her confidence....
As she unclenches her fists, her heart races as fast as she wished her life was going.
She looks down at her hands and saw nothing but the marks from her tight grip in her palms.

She feels something, not the pain,
What she's feeling is something new, something strong...
She feels lighter,
A weight lifted because she's not holding onto confidence anymore...

Confidence is her!
