Motivation To Round 2

If we're headed to round 2 clearly means that we've made it past round 1. Both the female and the male senior national teams fought hard to make it where we are. It was definitely impressive being able to witness a group of individuals function as 1 unit, as a team. The unity, the love, the passion, the drive....all expressed by each player on the court.

There were many obstacles that both teams faced, but the biggest that I am proud and happy that we were able to overcome was 'DOUBT'! Doubt, both from ourselves and also from different persons outside of our support system. Our senior female national team faced more doubt than the males, but despite this they responded to the doubt with their actions and their accomplishment. They conquered, they excelled, they secured their spot to advance to the 2nd round of the World Championship Qualifers.

With such motivation we gained from seeing our own female national team advancing, how could we settle for anything less!? We, the senior male national team, refused to settle for anything less than to be on top alongside our female national team advancing to the 2nd round. We went out with a goal in mind, and we came back with the gold in hand!

What an experience, what an accomplishment for both teams. I can't say that the other teams that didn't advance didn't deserve to advance, but WE definitely deserved it and proved that we did.

It was great to see the faces of each of the players when hearing the last whistle blow calling the games to an end. Nothing but proud faces, excited spirits, happy faces, motivated attitudes.......ACCOMPLISHED FEELINGS! Pictures captured the moments, but the memories captured the feelings.

Although it may be the 1st step up the ladder, it was a big step that carries the other steps up. I'll always be proud of all the players from both teams. I've seen all develop their skills overtime, small or big progress, each player improved.

All I hope for is that each player remembers that feeling they had 1 years ago, the feeling of taking what they deserve and being on top. This 2nd step up the ladder won't be easy, but the step is there so it's possible. Respect each other (we made it through the 1st round together, not alone), train hard, maximum effort, EFFORT, confidence, be open to your mistakes and those of your fellow teammates, and go out and play the game like you know how.
The coaching staff, the training staff, SIMVA, and the supporters are all working hard to push us to the top, we just need to grab hold and pull ourselves up where we belong!!!!!!

Round 2 here we come!!!!!
